Exercise for Breast Cancer Survivors
There is a growing evidence base to strongly suggest that exercise is both safe and effective for survivors to help overcome treatment side effects.
But it can be difficult – even scary – to begin an exercise program after surgery. We've put together this video to give breast cancer survivors some tools to get started. It walks you thorough four basic stretches and movements intended to begin to restore your normal range of motion and muscular strength in and around the area of your surgery. Once your doctor has cleared you to exercise, try these basic moves – start slowly, and only do what you can. Build up the number of exercises and repetitions as you become stronger.
