Reduce Your Cancer Risk: Weight

ADD a total of 30 minutes of physical activity to your day

Find something you love and gradually build it into your day.

Being active doesn’t mean you have to join a gym or buy a treadmill. When we recommend being active every day “in any way,” we mean it – because the research shows it’s moving that matters. And that just means being more active than you are right now.

Can’t do thirty minutes at a stretch? Divide it up over the course of your day. Find 15 minutes for a brisk walk in the morning and another 15 minutes in the afternoon. As you get more fit, you’ll be able to go even longer. And that will help you avoid gaining weight, which is a major risk factor for cancer.
