The London 2012 Olympic Stadium

Having completed the Berlin, New York and London Marathons in the past 12 months and having raised funds for two UK charities (Cancer research UK and Terrence Higgins Trust) I felt that it would only be appropriate to continue raising funds for Cancer Research. Having recently had another friend affected by skin cancer this is a cause very close to my heart.
I am training to participate in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 7, 2012 & the BMW Frankfurt Marathon on 28 October 2012, to benefit the American Institute for Cancer Research. As part of my training I will also be running in the Maidenhead half Marathon on 16 September 2012.
With more than 1.2 million (USA) and 320,500 (UK) new cancer cases. each year, and more than 500,000 (USA) and 160,00 (UK) cancer deaths annually, programs that can produce even a small reduction in cancer rates offer enormous savings in lives, suffering and medical expense. AICR has been at the forefront of providing education programs and materials to help people learn how to make changes for lower cancer risk.
If my efforts could save, help or ease the suffering of only one person then all the hours of training and pain are worth doing that much more. Please join the fight against cancer by making a donation to Team AICR. No donation is too small for this great goal! Just think that your $10 or £10 could help at least one person live a healthier life - then it is all worth the effort.
