As a family member and teammate, I have been exposed to the effects cancer has on an individual and their loved ones.  This exposure has led me to become part of a team determined to achieve the common goal of helping in the fight against cancer.  Throughout college I was given the analogy that a team is like an iceberg.  Every player on the team is critical in creating lasting character and pushing each other to become a stronger base.   In the end, this will push the iceberg further out of the water or will likewise create more successes in competition.   As a former member of the UNH volleyball team, I met an incredible woman, Holly Young.  Although I was never able to play with Holly, the impact she made on my team was everlasting.  The unconditional love and strength she displayed every day made my teammates some of the strongest individuals and greatest role models.  When Jeanne Czipri, a teammate of mine and close friend of Holly, asked me to run this race I was honored to be working and training for such a powerful woman.  I truly believe Holly would be here with us running to help find a cure for cancer.  Because she cannot, we will do it for her.   Jeanne and I will be running to fulfill our part as team members and help raise funds for further research.

Along with Holly, another fighter I will be running for is my cousin, Lance Embrey.  He continues to work towards recovery every single day.  These individuals are not alone.  My heart is with all those who continue to fight against this intimidating diagnosis.  Although running to raise money is the least I can do to help in this lasting fight, I will continue to provide support and motivation to all those affected.

When you don't think you can go anymore, keep fighting...just ONE MORE ROUND.   Please join the fight by making a donation to Team AICR--4EverYoung. No donation is too small for this great goal!

"Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities: It is this, which in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak."   Lance, when you gain a pound...I'll gain a mile!
