2013 AICR Staff 8k
Join fellow AICR staff in this year's St. Paddy's day 8k to honor our own friends and family who have faced cancer.
On March 10th 2013 AICR staff are participating in the Washington DC St. Patrick’s Day 8K to raise money for cancer research. Each of us is participating in memory or in honor of a friend or family member who has faced cancer.
Ways to Participate:
- Join the Runnin’ Team: register with the St. Paddy’s Day 8K ($35), run on March 10th, and (if you want) create a fundraising page right here to invite friends/family to support you. When you make your page, share with us who you’re running in honor of.
- Join the Cheerin’ Team: No charge to join the Cheerin’ Team. Just commit to come out on March 10th to cheer for our runners, and (if you want) make a fundraising page here to invite your friends and family to support you.
Together we hope to raise $1,700 ( for st. patrick's day!) for cancer research. Because we’re all employed by AICR, and don’t want to run to raise our own salaries, we are committing 100% of our donations to research.
AICR funded research has shown that 30% to 40% of all cancers are directly linked to the foods we eat, the exercise we get and how well we watch our weight. What this means is that we have the potential through our daily food and lifestyle choices to make a major impact on the cancer risk we each face in our lives. AICR also supports research that helps those fighting cancer, and cancer survivors, keep and regain their health during and after treatment.
